History:
TORA 101 was originally a Canadian Car & Foundry Harvard IV in service with the RCAF from 1952 – 1968. Purchased by Twentieth Century Fox along with other aircraft to be modified and used in their film, TORA! TORA! TORA!, and flown 197 hours during the filming. Purchased after the movie by Challenge Publications, through other owners, then donated in 1980 along with the B17 Aluminum Overcast to the EAA. Purchased in 1992 by J&R Investments of Wichita Kansas, then Doug Jackson, partner in J&R bought TORA 101 outright in 1995. Flown by Doug some 1700 hours, in close to 400 paid airshow performances, TORA 101 is a regular on the airshow circuit all over the United States.
