History:
N45SK WAS ORIGINALLY BUILT AS A AT-7 BUT WAS REBUILT AS A C-45 BY BEECHCRAFT IN 1953 FOR THE USAF AS A C-45H. THIS AIRCRAFT WAS SURPLUSED BY THE USAF AND SOLD TO THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI WHERE IT SERVED AS AN EXECUTIVE AIRPLANE. UNLIKE MANY AIRCRAFT THAT SURVIVE FORM THIS SERIES, IT WAS NEVER A FREIGHTER, BUT WENT STRAIGHT FROM USAF USE INTO EXECUTIVE USE. IT WAS RESTORED IN 1993 TO ITS CURRENT CONFIGURATION. THE C45 SERIES OF AIRCRAFT WAS VERY IMPORTANT TO THE SUCCESS OF THE BEECHCRAFT AIRCRAFT COMPANY. THE BEECH 18 WAS DESIGNED PRIOR TO WWII AS AN EXECUTIVE TRANSPORT. BEECH DID WELL WITH THE BEECH MODEL 18 HOWEVER AS THE THREAT OF WAR LOOMED AHEAD THE MODEL 18 WAS ORDERED BY THE UNITED STATES ARMY AIR CORP AND NAVY TO FILL A VARIETY OF REQUIREMENTS. THE BEECH MODEL 18 BECAME KNOWN AS THE C45, AT7, AT11, F2 FOR THE AIR CORPS AND THE JRB, SNB FOR THE NAVY. THERE WERE MANY VARIENTS OF THESE MODELS. THEY WERE USED AS TRANSPORTS, PILOT, TRAINERS, NAV TRAINERS, BOMBER TRAINERS, AIR ALMULANCE,PHOTO RECON AND MANY OTHER ROLES FOR THE MILITARY.
